Teenage Engineering EP-35 K.O. AMP – Portable amp for everyone

The EP-35 K.O. AMP is a battery-powered amp built for jams where several people want in at once. Guitar, microphone, line source, Bluetooth and USB audio all play through the same 35 W speaker at the same time, with no channel to select and no menu to learn. It is the first amp in the Teenage Engineering EP series, and at Soundium it sits next to the K.O. II and the rest of the EP family.

Key Features

  • Everything plays at once: guitar, mic, line, Bluetooth and USB inputs are summed into one mix automatically.
  • Style-based FX: eight guitar and eight mic presets, each dialled in with a single amount knob.
  • Battery powered: up to 12 hours of play time and a full charge in about 2 hours over USB-C PD.
  • USB audio interface: connects to a computer or phone as a sound card with an 8-channel output.
  • Auracast stereo: pair a second EP-35 over Bluetooth LE Audio and tilt each unit to set left or right.
  • Built for outdoors: splash-proof body, carry handle, storage compartment and a camp light that turns on when you open it.

Customer Benefits

Most practice amps assume one player. The EP-35 assumes a room, or a campsite. A guitarist, a singer and a friend with a phone can all plug in and hear each other straight away, with gain for mic, guitar and line tucked behind the rear grille so the top stays simple. The FX skip parameter menus: pick blues, twang, indie or overdrive for guitar, or radio, pop and robo choir for the mic, then turn one dial. When the session moves to the desk, the same box becomes a USB sound card for recording, and the EP-plug port plays audio straight from a thumb drive or an FM radio accessory.

Quick Specs

  • Output power: 35 W, mono 1+1 (4" woofer, 1" tweeter)
  • Frequency response: 50 Hz – 20 kHz (-6 dB)

  • Output: 3.5 mm stereo line / headphone output
  • FX: 8 guitar presets, 8 mic presets, each with an amount dial
  • USB: USB-C audio interface port, USB-C EP-plug host port (thumb drives, USB audio, EP accessories), USB-C charge-only port (up to 45 W PD)
  • Bluetooth: 5.3 with LE Audio and Auracast broadcast
  • Battery: lithium-ion 20.1 Wh (7.2 V / 2800 mAh), up to 12 h play time, about 2 h charging
  • Design: splash-proof, integrated handle, storage compartment with camp light

In the Box

  • Teenage Engineering EP-35 K.O. AMP
  • Quick start guide

Ideal For

  • Group jams with guitar, vocals and synths at the same time
  • Outdoor sessions, busking and camping
  • EP-133 K.O. II and other EP series owners who want a speaker with character

Compatibility

Works as a USB audio interface with computers and phones, plays MP3, WAV and AIFF from USB thumb drives, and docks EP series devices on the grille with the optional K.O. dock kit.

Pros & Cons

✅ Pros:

  • Six sources play together with no input switching
  • Phantom-powered XLR input handles condenser mics
  • Doubles as a USB audio interface and Bluetooth speaker
  • Two units pair into a wireless stereo set

⚠️ Cons:

  • FX are presets with one amount control, no deep editing
  • 35 W is for rooms and small gatherings, not a stage PA
  • Splash-proof only, not waterproof

If your jams involve more than one instrument and rarely happen near a wall socket, the EP-35 K.O. AMP keeps everyone plugged in and heard. Find it at Soundium alongside the EP series and its accessories.
